Strong jet stream winds are expected across ZLC airspace today. Low-level wind shear and
strong surface winds are also expected across portions of Montana today. Impacts
resulting from the strong northwest flow aloft will include moderate turbulence from the

Cooler and wetter conditions are expected for the mountains this weekend. Snow levels
will drop Friday night and remain at 5500 feet for the North Cascades, and at 6500 feet
for the Central Cascades and Olympics through Sunday Morning. Some cold rain, and even a
dusting of snow is possible. Those planning any recreational activities in the mountains
should prepare for these conditions.

Expect a chance for thunderstorms over the mountains and deserts from early afternoon
through the evening. Although most activity will be limited to the higher terrain,
